... order a tiramisu
The hostess-gift du jour is table-ready, restaurant-worthy melt-in-the-mouth tiramisu. Forget even pretending you made it yourself - Martha Stewart moments are so passe anyway.
Liqueur-flavoured tiramisu - We're loving the Bailey's version (there's Tia Maria and Kahlua, too) which has just the right hit of creamy mintiness. From $20 for half a kilo, at Tiramisutra.

The Berry Bunch
Thinking of a naughty and nice dessert? Tiramisutra's rum-drenched berry trifle is love at first bite. The tiramisu specialist's latest concoction is a luscious combo of sponge fingers and mascarpone cheese layered with a melange of berries (fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, blueberries and cherries). Available as whole cakes (½kg $26/1kg $44) or in cups (12 for $50). Tiramisutra's other seductive flavours include Baileys and Tia Maria.

sweet surrender
While some devote an entire bakery to all things chocolate, Tiramisutra owners Sylvie Ong and Julie Sim whip up nothing but the Italian coffee and liqueur-soaked confection (½kg,$20 / 1kg,$36). Tiramisu lovers will swoon over their ultra-creamy, Kahlua-drenched creation. Don't expect the usual cake-like texture - this is more pudding-meets-mousse. To order, call Sylvie/Julie at
6726-7297 or e-mail orders@tiramisutra.com and they'll deliver anywhere for free.

IS magazine review Aug 1-14 2003

There's tiramisu, and then there's Tiramisutra (www.tiramisutra.com;
orders@tiramisutra.com). Soaked in moist, generous amounts of Kahlua and coffee, partners Sylvie Ong and Julie Sim's truly Italian tiramisu is a balanced, textured delight of creamy mascarpone and cheese topped with cocoa powder. Perfect for home entertainment, the tiramisu costs $20 for a half kilogram and $36 for one kilogram (with free delivery). Suitable for vegetarians, while teetotalers can request a
non-alcoholic version - but where's the fun in that? Order 2 days ahead.

The tiramisu cake was absolutely fabulous. Totally melt-in-the-mouth. We couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. Thank you!

Thank you for delivering the tiramisu. My family and I loved it. It is very yummy.

(non-alcoholic version)
Just to tell you that your tiramisu is truly the best that I've ever tasted in Singapore and around the world (USA, Italy, UK, HK, Australia... we've tried them all!) Your liquour, cheese and sponge are perfectly balanced. Texture was seamless and there was sufficient body. All 12 of us rated it first class tonight. Our only complaint was that there wasn't enough for seconds (perhaps 1.5 kg would be a better feed for 10 greedy persons)! Thanks for a heavenly treat. We'll be wanting more again, for sure...
